Week 15: Fantasy Advice

A little week 15 fantasy advice for those of you still battling it out in the play offs:
Pick One:

  • Keenan Allen
  • Harry Douglas
  • Cecil Shorts
Allen has been more consistent and the Denver defense isn't that great. They're winning games on pure offense, so Allen promises to be in for a shoot out. Douglas is inconsistent and even though the Washington defense is broken, Roddy White will be a better target for Matt Ryan. Jacksonville might be on the upswing, but I'd be hesitant to rely on Shorts too strong when you have a better match up in Allen. Jacksonville has been turning to desperate high-school team style trick plays and having receivers and backs throwing to near-nobodys.
Alfred Morris or Giovanni Bernard
Morris sees a lot of touches, but Bernard is a better runner. I suspect Morris will be the stronger option out of the gate, but will lose touches to passing plays as the Redskins fall behind. Morris isn't Washington's top passing back (See: Roy Helu Jr.) and Bernard is a serious end zone threat and, more importantly, a consistent threat. Start Bernard.

Week 12 Fantasy Advice

It's me! Your favorite undead, giving you the long, the short and the sloppy on my fantasy football projections for the week. And, of course, owning up to all the bad. Check back after the week clears to see how I fared. And kick me questions in the comments. I also lurk on Yahoo Answers and advise friends and coworkers and own up to all that here, too.

So here goes nothing.

Andre Brown or Knowshon Moreno
Moreno sees a lot of touches, but the Pats run defense is far superior to Dallas. Moreno lost a lot of work to Ball last week, too. Give Brown the start.
Pick Three:
Rueben Randle (vs Dallas)
Kendall Wright (@ Oakland)
Jarrett Boykin (vs Minnesota)
T.Y. Hilton (@ Arizona)
Eric Decker (@ New England)
New England & Denver is going to be a shoot out and Decker should see targets right behing D. Thomas. Wright has a soft match up, but Fitzpatrick is no Jake Locker. Randle has a soft match up and a proven, albeit struggling, quarterback. As I said for weekly predictions, Tolzien is likely to pick up his first win against a shaky Minnesota defense and in a standard PPR league Boykin will see healthy touches this week. Hilton has a tough match up and seems to be boom-or-bust to start with, aside from his three TD week against Houston, Hilton's been weak.
DeAngelo Williams or Chris Ogbonnaya
Ogbonnaya loses touches to Whittaker and MaGahee all the time. A smart team would put the ball in the hands of any, or all, of these guys, given their QB woes, but Cleveland cannot be convinced of this. On the other hand, a running QB like Newton really opens up the run game for Williams and the match up against the Miami run defense is soft. I'm looking for Williams to have a strong game this week, despite the predictions.

RGIII or Case Keenum
Keenum. He's a good qb in a bad situation, but the Jags defense is bad. San Fran uses the read option, too so they know how to defend it a little. And like I said in the weekly pick em, I'm looking for this to be Keenum's big night.

Greg Olsen or Vernon Davis
Olsen. Kap's gonna try to exploit bouldin in the long game. Newton loves hitting Olsen underneath and he adds years after the catch.

Week 12: Sunday Football Picks

As with many of you, I'm sure, this week will likely make or break my chances in fantasy football playoffs. And like some of you, I'm still waiting with bated breath for any update about my tight end Julius Thomas and hoping he gets in a real practice session today. Not that Rob Housler is a bad back up.... He's just not Julius.

That being said, it's time to post my Sunday picks.

Useless NFL Facts

Per Twitter's @NickClique: If Nick Foles threw interceptions on his next 26 attempts, his passer rating would still be higher than Eli Manning’s.

@PhillySportsMMA adds, "If Foles threw 8 consecutive INT's next game, he'd still have a higher PR than Vick's all time @ 100.2"

Weekly Pick 'em Results: 1-0; 1.000. As suspected, the players that needed to really perform for Atlanta fell miserably short in everything except the first drive. And the O-Line didn't do Ryan any favors. Though I admit, the point spread wasn't as bad as I expected. Of course Brees could have gone after one last touchdown at the end, but that's neither here nor there. And the 9 receivers with touches for Atlanta and New Orleans (a combined 18) left fantasy scores a little meager this week. Well, except Jimmy Graham and Pierre Thomas...

Week 12: Thursday Night Football

Just a quick post tonight. Or at least for now. I, truthfully, don't have much riding on this game tonight, though I know some of you do.

Thursday Night Pick: New Orleans Saints.

Atlanta is in a skid and Matt Ryan seems completely incapable of digging them out. With Julio out, I think Atlanta is, too. Douglas stepped it up for a game or two, but had since fallen flat. Snelling's personal life is a wreck and it cost him a game.

Brees, on the other hand, had a full arsenal at his disposal. Thomas has stepped up and Colston only missed one game and seems to have come back from the injury better than before. I'll post results after the game. Post fantasy advice requests in the comments.
